In 2022, our TWB founder, Hiroki, came across an intriguing magazine article about Japan. It stated that Japanese snacks were becoming more and more popular overseas for their unusually pop designs and unexpectedly delicate tastes. The author of the article, however, sighed over how difficult or almost impossible it was to go and buy Japanese snacks in his town in US. Hiroki shifted his gaze at a pile of Japanese snacks right in front of him, and thought “The world is waiting!”.
Something about Japanese Goodies
Hiroki started to read more articles or find YouTube videos about people overseas craving Japanese snacks and sweets. Many of them had lived in Japan for work or school and missed greatly their favorite Japanese snacks after they went back home. Pocky, Apollo, Koala-no-march …. These could be found only in Japan, and couldn’t be replaced by any of their home snacks.
The fascination surrounding Japanese snacks made Hiroki go for the next move.
TWB Go Beyond!
Hiroki talked to some of his friends and developed the idea into a possible international business opportunity. This is how TWB all started. Hiroki and his friends have been working since then to set and expand this international subscription gift service.
“Japanese snacks and sweets can do a lot more.They can go beyond borders.”, Hiroki believes. He has also started some new projects to promote cultural exchange or enhance well-being through Japanese snacks. With TWB, you can unbox the unexpected from Tokyo, and much more to come!
